We chose our destination carefully. When we arrived we were greeted by the friendly proprietor Pauline. Our room was spacious and eye catching. Pauline suggested places to go and was vert helpful. The breakfasts were generous and tasty. The evening meal was spectacular. We would recommend The Old Mill to anyone. Ours was a three night short break and our first trip since 2019 and it couldn’t have been improved upon. Even the sun shone on us during all of our walks.
We booked for a last minute meal on Boxing Day as our plans had changed. They fitted us in immediately. The building is very atmospheric and we sat at a table next to a log fire so we kept warm in the awful weather. Food was superb for main we had roast beef, lamb and pork. They even gave us extra Yorkshire puddings on request. The desserts we had were also very good. I hope to return to the pub next time I am visiting the area.
We stopped for a light lunch and wow what a treat, our snacks were huge but tasty! You will see a picture of a bacon and cheese bap that we asked for the bacon to be really, really cooked and it was perfect. Please don’t think it’s dry it is how we asked for it. The staff were lovely and ensured we had everything we wanted. We immediately booked a table for an eveneing meal.
Excellent family day! Our wedding anniversary, my daughters birthday and my 89 years old mother in laws birthday as well. Food and service were the usual top drawer quality, lovely pub, give it a try!
Came across this lovely quaint place as we drove around the country lanes and decided to call in for lunch. So glad we did. We were attended to by the very capable and efficient Kim and Freya. Well done ladies for looking after us. The food we ordered was delicious and very filling, not leaving any room for dessert, which was disappointing – as our favourite rhubarb crumble was on the menu. The menu offers many meals to choose from and is very fairly priced. We most certainly will be returning when next in the area to sample more from their menu. A very pleasant place indeed, friendly staff and delicious meals – what more could you ask for? Give it a try – I don’t think you will be disappointed.
We went for Sunday lunch. The choices are mainly roast dinner but what do you expect. The lunches were huge with lots of well cooked meat and veg and very tasty. Lovely surroundings inside or out. We had an issue with my elderly mother and I can’t tell you how wonderful they were.
The Old Mill is very nice inside (don’t be put off by plain front door) with welcoming staff and bar. Quaint decor with character and lunch was very good with very good service. Yorkshire puddings excellent. Well worth speaking out down quiet country lane.
The friendly layout inside provides opportunity for all types of meetings, large or small with privacy if required.
Had a lovely lunch with a friend today. We both had the hot beef sandwich which came with home made chips and gravy. It was delicious and substantial. Also very good value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful. The conservatory was clean and airy with doors opened. Will definitely eat here again. It is a hidden gem.
We booked here as we were staying just along the road and noticed they do gluten free options which my girlfriend requires. We were welcomed by friendly staff and shown to our table they quickly took our drinks order and swiftly brought them to us, the bar looked busy the dining room was starting to fill up when we arrived. All tables were socially distanced and sanitizer was available. we both opted for the hunters chicken which was lovely and a huge portion, overall great food at great price will be sure to visit again if in the area.
